Comments: | Take me back to Gaspe
Where I was young and free,
Where morning mist rolls o'er the hills and memories call to me,
The house that rang with laughter then,
Is silent now you see, for time has passed
And we moved on from this Peninsula by the sea.
Take me back to Gaspe,
To my home by the sea,
Where childhood memories warm my heart and voices call to me,
When gentle breezes caress my brow,
I close my eyes and see, it's my mothers hand that brushed my cheek
on this Peninsula by the sea.
Take me back to Gaspe
Where winter winds do blow,
To see once more this place I left so many years ago,
To see the sail boats in the bay and white caps fill the sea,
And once again to be a part of this Peninsula by the sea.
Take me back to Gaspe
I'm sure you will agree,
This place we call our homeland, God's gift to you and me,
And when my journey's over, I pray that I will be,
In this place called Gaspe, This Peninsula by the sea.
