Recently discovered pictures
of the original St. Andrew's Church, York.

"By the 1920's this church, which held only thirty to forty people, was deemed too small for the rapidly growing congregation, which already exceeded two hundred persons. A new and much larger building was needed, so the people of York set to work."

While sifting through old pictures, a Sunny Bank resident found picture a of a structure resembling St. Andrew's Church, but much smaller. After asking the opinion of several elderly people, it appears certain that it was the original St. Andrew's Church. This structure was built in 1895 and torn down in 1929.
