The Patterson Clan Web Site

maintained by A. Patterson

In about 1765 John Patterson claimed for himself and his wife lot #20 of York Township, in what later became known as "Sunny Bank." With only 2 English neighbors in the Gaspe area, he proceeded to build a small cabin near the York River. His son, Peter, and Peter's son, John, likewise settled on the same homestead. John and his wife, Hannah Kitchen, of Point St. Peter, had a family of 13 children. Their 7th child, George Felix, was born on Oct. 12, 1838. He joined a crew on a whaling ship at a young age, and in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland, on July 25, 1867, he married Anne Josephine Coleman.

Descendants of George and Hannah number well over 300, and are spread throughout the world. This site is devoted to their family.

However, to succeed it will have to be a cooperative effort of all the families involved. My hope is that the entire family share the responsibility of writing down interesting family news. Things like births, marriages, deaths, or other pertinent family information, like reunions or other family gatherings, should be sent to me by e-mail. Four times a year I would compile all the information and distribute it to interested family members.
