Statue of Rene Levesque unveiled in a respectful ceremony, Gilles Gagne

NEW CARLISLE - The life high statue of Rene Levesque was unveiled on August 31st in the municipal park of New Carlisle, two streets away from the house where the former Quebec Premier was raised, between 1922 and the end of the forties.

MEQ reluctant to have Gaspé CEGEP recruit in Montreal, Quebec City, Gilles Gagné

The management of the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles would like to recruit students living in the Montréal and Québec City areas in order to offer them the chance to discover the Gaspé Peninsula. But the Québec Department of Education does not want to deliver the bursaries that are needed for this initiative.

New Mid-day Flight from Banaventure to Montreal, Gilles Gagne

Pascan Aviation, a company offering an aerial link mainly for parcels between Quebec City and Bonaventure since last year, will add a mid-day passenger oriented flight between the Baie-des-Chaleurs airport and Montral, starting September 10th. The parcel service, coming from a deal between Pascan and its main client, Dicom, leaves only four seats for passengers, between Qubec City, Mont-Joli, Bonaventure and the Magdalen Islands, early in the morning and at the end of the afternoon for the return trip. But the very modern and fast Pilatus PC12 owned by Pascan, stays more than six hours in the Magdalen Islands, enough time to link the Islands and Montral, both ways.
