In answer to question :
My father tells me there once stood a wooden chapel in New Carlisle, Gaspe, where the my great uncle, Canon Alfred \'Stan\' Lemoignan, installed a window as a memorial to my grandfather, John Philip Lemoignan who was killed in a quarry accident in Jersey, channel islands before I was born. I would like to know if this church still stands as I plan to pay a visit. I live in Southampton, England as does my father, Charles who moved here from Jersey fifty years ago with his wife and my two brothers. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Paul Lemoignan

Hi Paul, I think we are related! Alfred Le Moignan is my great-great grandfather; his sister Florence Laura was my great-grandmother who married Winter Rowe (my grandmother’s maiden name). I hope you got to go to Gaspe — I hope to as well as have been doing a lot of research on Stan and the rest of the Le Moignan side of my family. I live in Jersey but used to live in Southampton where I studied at university. It would be great to hear more about your side of the family and I am very happy to share the info I have on Stan and other members of the Le Moignan family.
