The annual Friends of St. Paul's Christmas Sale will take place on Saturday, December 2nd commencing at 9:30 a.m. in the basement at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Gaspe. There is something for everyone from baking, new and nearly new items, costume jewellery, Christmas items, toys, books, games, etc. Tickets are also being sold on a $100 IGA gift certificate that will be drawn that day. Free coffee, tea, and cookies.

CASA is extending the submission deadline for the Colour Me Gaspé Photo Contest to December 31, 2017. We have so many wonderful traditions around the coast that occur over the winter months. We Need Your Support Once Again !
The Gaspe Cancer Foundation will be hosting an afternoon of tea and entertainment at Branch 59 Legion in Gaspe on Sunday the 26 th of November starting at 1:30 . The Gaspe Cancer Foundation is a non - profit organization that helps our local folks travel outside Gaspe to receive treatment for cancer . Please bring a plate of goodies to help us serve the folks while they listen to the lovely entertainment. Thanking you in advance for your ongoing support, it is greatly appreciated . Advent Angels - It is that time of year again, if you are interested in participating in the Advent Angels this year please contact Holly Hackett (418-368-3180 or holly2701@hotmail.com) before Sunday, Nov 26th. Names will be distributed before Dec 1st (Advent starts on Dec 3rd)
How does it work??? People who request to participate will receive the name of another person/family that is participating. You then become the Advent Angel for that person. As such, you will do a good deed and/or purchase a small gift for your Advent Angel anonymously during the Advent Season (Dec 3rd-24th)

The York River Seniors club will be hosting their annual Christmas Supper and dance on Saturday December 2nd at the Gaspé Elementary School. 5pm Cocktails, 6pm Supper with music and dance to follow. Tickets are $20. per person with members of our club receiving a refund of $15.00 at the door. Tickets are available from either Tony C. Patterson or at Photo Cassidy. Alcohol will not be sold on the premises so it is BYOB. Tickets must be purchased no later than November 29th.

The Douglastown Shamrock Golden Age Club invites members and friends to a money Bingo on Sunday, November 26 at 1:30 P.M. at the Trachy Hall in Douglastown. Admission is $10.00 (includes 9 full cards). Extra cards will be available. As well we will have one 50/50 draw and a small canteen will be available.

Christmas Donation Drive

The Christmas donation drive is approaching quickly and it’s time to get teams of volunteers together for the Guignolée. Volunteers are needed to go door-to-door on Sunday December 3rd to collect money which will buy grocery gift certificates for people and families in need. Community Breakfast and Christmas Sale

A busy morning! On Sunday November 19th, at the Douglas community Centre, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join friends and neighbors for an excellent breakfast with a traditional menu, the bacon is back…. $8 for adults (12 & over), $4 for children (5-11 years) (ages 4 and under, free). Everyone is welcome!
There will be a Christmas sale from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Homemade goods, crafts Christmas decorations… A great opportunity to find gifts and goodies for the upcoming Christmas season. To reserve a table for $10, please call 418-368-0288. The sale will be on the first floor.

Gaspésie Literacy Council Book Sale

The Gaspésie Literacy Council will be holding its annual book sale on Friday November 17th from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday November 18th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The sale will be held in the Douglastown community Centres’ basement.
A wonderful opportunity to buy Christmas presents, especially for the avid readers on your list. There is a wide selection of books for children, adolescents and adults. Come take a look! The book prices are very budget friendly.

BARACHOIS REUNION - JULY 28TH. 2018

Follow-up from the 2nd. of August 1996 - 50 Plus/Minus Baby Boomer Reunion

The 2018 organization committee, Gerald Girard, Dianna Francis & Stanley Ste Croix will be hosting a dinner at the Fort Prevel Golf Course on SATURDAY JULY 28TH. 2018 starting with cocktail hour at 5 pm, dinner served at 6 pm. There will be a two choice 5 coarse menu served at the cost of $22.95 for Chicken or $27.95 for Salmon + taxes

To be eligible to attend the cocktail & dinner you would have to be born within the years of 1945-1946-1947 and have attended school in Barachois
