Up coming events:
Event 1: The York River Seniors will be hosting a 5-7 for the benefit of the Gaspé Legion branch on Friday January 26th. Toasted club sandwiches will be on the menue. All proceed from the evening will be given to the Legion. $7.00 per club.
Event 2: The York River Seniors will be hosting the opening event of the Wakeham-York winter carnival on Friday February 9th. The event, a Lumberjack supper, $10.00 per person. 1st setting 5pm, 2nd setting 6pm. Please come out and support your club and carnival.

A 5-7 to the benefit of the Royal Canadian Legion, Gaspé branch. The York River Seniors will be hosting a 5-7 on Friday January 26th at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 59, Gaspé. Toasted club sandwiches will be served, $7.00 per club. All proceeds will be donated to the Gaspé Legion. Please come out and support your club and our Legion.

Déjeuner Communautaire

On Sunday January 28th, at the Douglas community Centre, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., we welcome everyone to our monthly breakfast. Join friends and neighbors for an excellent breakfast with a traditional menu. $8 for adults (12 & over), $4 for children (5-11 years) would be appreciated (ages 4 and under, free).

Happy Hour Special: community garden

On Friday January 26th at 5 p.m., the Douglas Community Centres’ Happy Hour is a great opportunity to get together with old friends or make new ones. We will present you the new project of collective seeding for the community garden. Bring your refreshments and a dish to share. A voluntary contribution of 2$ would be appreciated.

Travel talks will begin on January 23rd; every second Wednesday evening at 7h30 p.m. in the conference room of the Douglas Community Centre. A neat way to travel around the world! Most travel talks will be in French. Everyone is welcome! Voluntary contribution.

Yoga Classes at the Douglas Community Centre

Yoga is back, a yoga class will be offered from January 15th to March 19th. There will be a Sivananda yoga, open yoga class on Mondays from 6h30 p.m. to 7h30 p.m. You can sign up for the entire 10-week session for $90 or pay $10 per course. The Annual Dwayne Chicoyne Quadoree

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, the volunteers and everyone who made donations. We would also like to thank the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #261 for hosting the event. Last year, with your support, we were able to collect $1740. The money raised was donated to Ethan’s trust fund.

Please note that the 10th edition of the Quadoree will be held on Saturday August 4th. We will provide more details in the near future. We look forward to seeing you all again.

BARACHOIS REUNION - JULY 28TH. 2018

Follow-up from the 2nd. of August 1996 - 50 Plus/Minus Baby Boomer Reunion

The 2018 organization committee, Gerald Girard, Dianna Francis & Stanley Ste Croix will be hosting a dinner at the Fort Prevel Golf Course on SATURDAY JULY 28TH. 2018 starting with cocktail hour at 5 pm, dinner served at 6 pm. There will be a two choice 5 coarse menu served at the cost of $22.95 for Chicken or $27.95 for Salmon + taxes

To be eligible to attend the cocktail & dinner you would have to be born within the years of 1945-1946-1947 and have attended school in Barachois
